Notes:
tinamous are ground-dwelling chicken-like ratite birds native to South America; although they can fly, they are not strong flyers; the genus to which this species belongs come from the Greek words eu meaning nicely and dromos meaning running escape; this species in found in lowland dry scrubland and also at higher elevations in southern Chile and Argentina.
