rosellas are large and lovely parakeets with multi-colored plumage and a long pointed tail; they eat fruit and seeds that each bird holds with its feet; nests in tree cavities; taxonomy of the several species in this complex can be confusing and this species sometimes is named Eastern Rosella in various field guides; no sexual dimorphism.
