Bali Myna
Leucospar rothschildi
Native Range: Oriental Region
Notes:
endemic to the island of Bali in Indonesia; stays mostly in treetops; nests in tree cavities; nearly went extinct during the late 20th century, its numbers dwindling to only about 10 individuals in the wild; much of this decline was due to poachers who caught birds for a lucrative pet trade; now bred widely in captivity; no sexual dimorphism.
