Black-throated Wattle-eye
Platysteira peltata
Native Range: Africa
Notes:
wattle-eyes are small, mostly-black-and-white African flycatchers with red wattles (fleshy protuberances) around the eye; they are related to batises and thus are placed in the same taxonomic family (Platysteiridae); this particular species is the most common of the wattle-eye species and occurs in east-central Africa.
