Notes:
Australasian shrikethrushes get their name from the fact that these species display features of both shrikes (i.e., a large bill) and thrushes (i.e., stocky body and ground-dwelling habit); however, shrikethrushes are not closely related to either shrikes (Laniidae) or thrushes (Turdidae) of the Americas and Eurasia.
