Collared Pratincole
Glareolus pratincola
Native Range: A
frica and Eurasia
Notes:
pratincoles are gull-sized aerial birds with long wings, short legs, and in most cases a forked tail; they tend to be colored in creams, browns, and grays; at rest they usually remain horizontal in posture; coursers (which are also in the family Glareolidae), by contrast, are mostly terrestrial birds, with upright posture, that usually forage alone or in small groups in open countryside.
