Notes: the western counterpart of the eastern Baltimore Oriole and formerly considered conspecific with it; these two species hybridize where they meet in the central USA; large white patch on wing, whitish belly, and black crown help to distinguish male from sympatric Hooded Oriole; forages among trees in open broadleafed woods.
