Bower's Shrikethrush
Colluricincla boweri

Native Range: Australia

Notes: Australasian shrikethrushes get their name from the fact that these species display features of both shrikes (i.e., a relatively large head and bill) and thrushes (i.e., stocky body and bush-dwelling habit); however, shrikethrushes are not closely related to either shrikes (Laniidae) or thrushes (Turdidae) of the Americas and Eurasia; Bower's Shrikethrush is a close relative and closely resembles the Little Shrikethrush that also occurs in northeastern Australia.
