African (or Grey-winged) Francolin

Native Range: Africa

Notes: a species endemic to South Africa where it inhabits sand plains and montane grasslands; usually found in coveys of about 3-8 birds; when flushed these birds fly fast and strong but tire quickly and then land to continue their preferred terrestrial behavior.
