Native Range: Eurasia, Africa, Oriental Region, and Australia

Notes: this geographically widespread species is the analogue of the Snowy Egret in the Americas; like its close cousin, this species has a black bill and legs, plus yellow slippers (but the latter is true mostly only in the breeding season, whereas at other times of year only the pads of the feet are yellow).
