Notes: this species shows strong sexual dimorphism in which the drake is mostly cinnamon-colored whereas the hen is mostly brown-plumaged but with strong white markings on the face and neck; both sexes have a bluish bill. this species also has an unusual geographic distribution, being found in both Africa and South America.
