Trumpeter Swan
Cygnus buccinator
Native Range: North America
Notes:
a large swan best told from similar Tundra Swan by voice (a gentle honking rather than hooting or barking) and by the shape of the bill (longer and straighter); also prefers more wooded ponds and streams than does Tundra Swan; no sexual dimorphism.
